The 2015 MotoGP British Grand Prix was held at the Silverstone circuit in Northamptonshire, England over the weekend of August 28-30. I only went to the circuit for Fridays practice and Sunday race day.
Though I had purchased a weekend pass I only went to the circuit for Friday’s practice and Sunday race day.
We actually had pleasant weather on the Friday practice day however, as usual, Britain reverted to form and we had to endure rain for the races on the Sunday.
For the Friday practice day, I am more mobile and I stayed around the Wellington straight and farm curve area taking photos. It is a quieter day for the number of spectators so this gives me time to visit the various stalls and the Entertainment Zone.
The rain did make for an interesting MotoGP race with eventual race winner Valentino Rossi holding off Danilo Petrucci who was closing fast over the last couple of laps. British riders Scott Redding and Bradley Smith finished 6thand 7th, unfortunately Cal Crutchlow crashed on lap 4.
In Moto 2 eventual 2015 World Champion Johann Zarco won the race by 3 secs with British rider Sam Lowes finishing 6th.
Moto 3 was far happier hunting ground with our own Danny Kent winning the race on his way to becoming the first Britain to win a GP World Championship since Barry Sheene in 1977.
